About Marsco

Marsco stands in the Red Hills of Skye, east of Glen Sligachan. It can be reached from the right of way running through the glen from Sligachan to Loch Coruisk, or from Coire nam Bruadaran on the western side. The summit looks across to the main Cuillin ridge and out to sea, and many walkers rate it the finest of the Grahams.

The hill has an unusual pop-culture footprint. A photograph of Marsco and Glen Sligachan by Richard Nutt appeared on the cover of Organisation, the second album by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, released in October 1980, and Runrig recorded a song titled 'Nightfall on Marsco' for their 1981 album Recovery.

The recorded summit point is grassy mound 2m N of SE cairn. That distinction matters on broad or flat tops, where the obvious cairn is not always the true high point.
