About Liathach - Spidean a' Choire Leith
Spidean a' Choire Leith, 'peak of the grey corrie', is the highest point of Liathach, one of the Torridon Hills in the Northwest Highlands. The name is rendered Liaghaich in the local Torridon Gaelic dialect.
Liathach forms an east-west ridge between Loch Torridon and neighbouring Beinn Eighe, carrying several peaks along its length, with the upper half of the mountain built up of many steep rocky terraces. Spidean a' Choire Leith reaches 1,055 m; the ridge's other Munro summit is Mullach an Rathain at 1,024 m.
