About Creach Bheinn

Creach Bheinn is a large, sprawling Grampian hill above the head of Loch Creran in Argyll, with Taynuilt the nearest village to the south.

A bulldozed track climbs from Loch Creran towards the ridge, and steeper ground lies near the top. From the summit the islands of Lismore and Mull stand out clearly, along with the hills around Glen Coe.

Finding the summit

Surveyor's note

boulder is 15cm higher than trig point base.

The recorded summit point is huge boulder 5m S of trig point. That distinction matters on broad or flat tops, where the obvious cairn is not always the true high point.
