About Ciste Dhubh
Ciste Dhubh occupies the ground between Glen Shiel and Glen Affric, ringed almost completely by glens: Fionngleann to the north, An Caorann Mor to the east and the Allt Cam-ban to the west. Only the south connects it onward, by the Bealach a' Choinich to Sgurr an Fhuarail.
The Gaelic A' Chiste Dhubh means the black chest, a name thought to refer to the dark rock of the summit.
