About Carn Gorm

Carn Gorm belongs to a set of four Munros on the northern side of Glen Lyon in Perthshire, a group known as the Carn Mairg hills or the Glen Lyon Horseshoe. At 1,029.5 metres it stands in the Breadalbane country of the southern Highlands, and its position on the round means it is rarely climbed on its own.

Surveyor's note

higher than outcrop beneath cairn and outcrop 5m to NW.

The recorded summit point is outcrop a few metres E of cairn. That distinction matters on broad or flat tops, where the obvious cairn is not always the true high point.

The Carn Gorm group

One other listed summit sits in the same prominence group, with Carn Gorm as the independent hill at its head.

SummitHeightDrop
An Sgorr 925 m 73 m

Grouping is by prominence alone: a summit belongs to the nearest higher Marilyn it connects to without a deeper intervening col. Over a large massif that can gather hills no one would walk in a single day, and which few would describe as parts of the same mountain — it is a measure of independence, not a suggested route.
