About Benvane
Benvane — Beinn Bhàn in Gaelic — is a Trossachs Corbett of 821 metres, inside both Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park and the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Its summit sits on the western edge of the Trossachs National Nature Reserve.
A 6 km ridge connects it southwards to Ben Ledi, and the bealach between the two can be gained over Ben Ledi itself, from the Stank Glen above Loch Lubnaig, or from Brig o' Turk via Glen Finglas reservoir and Glen Casaig. Brig o' Turk also gives access to the south ridge direct, while Strathyre and Glen Buckie near Balquhidder serve the north side. The Ben Ledi-Benvane ridge is the boundary between West Strathyre estate, held by Forestry and Land Scotland, and the Woodland Trust's Glen Finglas Estate.
