About Arbury Hill
Arbury Hill, at roughly 225 metres, shares the title of highest point in Northamptonshire and stands about 9 km south-west of Daventry.
Its real distinction is hydrological. The slopes form a divide between three major catchments: the Nene to the north, east and south, the Cherwell running to the Thames on the south-west side, and the Leam feeding the Severn to the west and north-west. The Nene itself begins in a swampy hollow on the hill's north-western flank. Rugby and Coventry are visible to the north-west, Northampton to the east.

Arbury Hill is not counted as an independent hill in its own right. In prominence terms it belongs to Cleeve Hill (330 m) — the nearest Marilyn you can reach from this summit without first dropping below its key col, 122 m.
Grouping is by prominence alone: a summit belongs to the nearest higher Marilyn it connects to without a deeper intervening col. Over a large massif that can gather hills no one would walk in a single day, and which few would describe as parts of the same mountain — it is a measure of independence, not a suggested route.
