Sgurr Fiona is the second Munro of An Teallach, the Wester Ross group whose name translates as 'the forge' or 'the anvil'. At 1,058 m it stands a few metres below Bidein a' Ghlas Thuill, and it is Sgurr Fiona that forms the sharp rocky summit crest of the range.

The group sits west of Dundonnell Forest, between Loch na Sealga to the south and Little Loch Broom to the north. Torridonian sandstone makes up most of the rock, giving the terraced sides and steep gullies familiar from the Torridon hills. The steepest section, Corrag Bhuidhe, rises above Loch Toll an Lochain and carries the overhanging pinnacle called Lord Berkeley's Seat.
