This 293 m point is a subsidiary boundary summit associated with Walbury Hill, the North Wessex Downs top that is the highest natural ground in South East England at 297 m. It is listed here as a historic county top.

The main summit carries the Iron Age hill fort of Walbury Camp and a triangulation pillar, though that pillar stands on private land without public access; a byway runs to the north. The hill sits on the north-facing ridgeline of the North Hampshire Downs, with Inkpen Hill west and Combe Hill and Pilot Hill east, and Combe Gibbet on Gallows Down between Walbury and Inkpen. The flanks lie within the Inkpen and Walbury Hills SSSI, chalk grassland of national importance.
