Sgùrr nan Eugallt is the high point of a compact group of hills south of Loch Hourn, running from Barrisdale across to Loch Quoich. Though lower than several mountains nearby, it is separated from all of them by a ring of deep glens, which gives it a distinctly self-contained feel.

Access is less awkward than the setting suggests — a ruined roadside cottage roughly 4 km east of the summit offers limited parking — but the road there is single track and the cottage lies some 20 miles from the nearest main road. Falling short of Munro height and lying in wild country, the hill sees few visitors.
