About Morven
Morven, or A' Mhòr Bheinn in Gaelic, is an Aberdeenshire Corbett of some 871 to 872 m, standing within the Cairngorms National Park.
Lord Byron spent part of his childhood in this district and named the hill in his poem When I Roved a Young Highlander; the Mary of those lines was Mary Duff, his first love. The hill's name is also used for one of the houses at Aboyne Academy.
