About Meall Glas

Meall Glas lies in the southern Highlands, about 8.5 km north-east of Crianlarich in Stirling. It stands on the northern boundary of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, so the hill marks the edge of protected ground rather than sitting deep within it.

The Meall Glas group

One other listed summit sits in the same prominence group, with Meall Glas as the independent hill at its head.

Listed summits in the Meall Glas prominence group
SummitHeightDrop
Beinn Cheathaich 938 m 79 m

Grouping is by prominence alone: a summit belongs to the nearest higher Marilyn it connects to without a deeper intervening col. Over a large massif that can gather hills no one would walk in a single day, and which few would describe as parts of the same mountain — it is a measure of independence, not a suggested route.
