About Leith Hill
Leith Hill is the summit of the Greensand Ridge and the second highest point in south-east England at 294 m, behind Walbury Hill in Berkshire. It stands about 6.7 km southwest of Dorking and some 40 km from central London, and no ground exceeds it for 79 km in any direction.
Four blocks of woodland around the hill make up the 337.9-hectare Leith Hill Site of Special Scientific Interest, though the summit itself is left out of that designation. Holmwood station, 3.6 km east on the Southern line to London Victoria, is the nearest railway.
