About Ladhar Bheinn

Ladhar Bheinn is the highest mountain in Knoydart and the most westerly Munro on the Scottish mainland, reaching 1,020 metres. That position, deep in the Knoydart to Glen Kingie country, shapes how it is reached.

Approaches come from Barrisdale to the north-east or Inverie to the south. The Barrisdale side allows a circuit of Coire Dhorrcaill, which involves some scrambling, most notably on the stretch immediately north of the subsidiary summit of Stob a' Chearcaill.

The Ladhar Bheinn group

One other listed summit sits in the same prominence group, with Ladhar Bheinn as the independent hill at its head.

Grouping is by prominence alone: a summit belongs to the nearest higher Marilyn it connects to without a deeper intervening col. Over a large massif that can gather hills no one would walk in a single day, and which few would describe as parts of the same mountain — it is a measure of independence, not a suggested route.
