About Cir Mhor
Cìr Mhòr has picked up the nickname the Matterhorn of Arran, a reflection of its sharply drawn shape. The Gaelic name translates as the big comb, likening the crest to a cockscomb.
The col called The Saddle divides it from Goat Fell, the highest point on Arran. Cìr Mhòr itself is a Corbett, reaching about 798 m in North Ayrshire.
