About Ben Vrackie
Ben Vrackie rises north of Pitlochry in Perthshire to 842 metres, with paths leading directly to the summit from Pitlochry or Killiecrankie and views over the town and surrounding glens. Loch a' Choire lies beneath the south face and is used for wild swimming.
The surrounding area became a Site of Special Scientific Interest in 1955, recognised for its varied and well-developed alpine flora and as habitat for moorland breeding birds and birds of prey.
