About Aonach Beag

This Aonach Beag stands in the empty country between Loch Ericht and Loch Laggan, about 4 km north-west of Ben Alder, and should not be mixed up with the better-known hill of the same name some 30 km west near Ben Nevis. The Gaelic reads as "little ridge", which sits oddly on a Munro.

It belongs to a chain of hills running between Loch Ossian and Loch Pattack, and three ridges converge at its top. Prominence is modest at 99 metres, the parent Geal-Charn lying about a kilometre east. Beinn Eibhinn to the west covers more ground but is slightly lower, with Lochan a' Charra Mhoir set between the two.
