About A' Chraileag

Lying between Loch Cluanie to the south and Glen Affric to the north, A' Chralaig is the highest summit along Glen Shiel. Its eastern flanks are in Forestry Commission ownership and fall within the Kintail National Scenic Area.

Height is not the whole story here: the ridge running north over Stob Coire na Cralaig to Mullach Fraoch-choire is generally reckoned the more absorbing ground. The hill is sometimes linked with Sgurr nan Conbhairean and Sail Chaorainn as the Cluanie Horseshoe, though no path joins it to those eastern peaks. The name also appears as A' Chrailaig.
